Assistant Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering @ Boise State University
I am a neuro- scientist/engineer interested in the interactions of electromagnetic energy with the nervous system, the effects of such interaction on neural activity, and how such effects can be employed in the development of novel or optimization of existing non-invasive brain stimulation techniques.
I have an educational background in Electrical Engineering. However, I grew a huge interest in Neuroscience as I evolved through my career. Currently, I am an assistant professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of Boise State University. Before BSU, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the laboratory of György Buzsáki at the Neuroscience Institute at New York University School of Medicine.
My recent research activities have focused on studying the effects of radio-frequency (RF) energy exposure on brain activity and developing a novel non-invasive neuromodulation technique: Transcranial Radio Frequency Stimulation (TRFS).
I am interested in pursuing my research at the interface of Neuroscience and Biomedical/Bioelectrical Engineering, working on the effects of electromagnetic stimulation (in different forms and across various frequencies) on the brain and its potential applications in treating brain disorders. My current research focuses on the translational development of TRFS for the treatment of brain disorders.
